LEGITIMACY

Recognition of all member organizations as reputable organizations through a defined vetting process.

Facilitation of industry engagement with intergovernmental bodies such as the United Nations and its specialized agencies (i.e. FAO, UNDP, WHO, CND, ECOSOC, WMO/IPCC, CFS), World Trade Organization (WTO), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Codex Alimentarius, World Bank.

Participation in coordinated efforts to expand industry research, standards and development, networking and, business opportunities.

Creation of an international network of hemp industry stakeholders.

POLICY, ADVOCACY AND REGULATION

Monitoring of policies related to the production, trade, marketing, and use of hemp and its derivative products.

Engaging with international policy making bodies and intergovernmental agencies.

Addressing any issues related to international hemp regulation (i.e. cannabis/hemp policy, crop chemical MRLs, seed policy, trade policy, sustainability, and international development).

Promoting and advocating on behalf of the global industrial hemp industry, and representing hemp organizations in various intergovernmental agencies such as the United Nations and its specialized agencies (i.e. FAO, UNDP, WHO, CND, ECOSOC, WMO/IPCC, CFS), World Trade Organization (WTO), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Codex Alimentarius, and World Bank.

SHARING OF INFORMATION

Sharing of information with the aim of building common industry positions.
Maintaining a knowledge repository for members and the general public, of best practices for mainstreaming various hemp uses.
Providing a clearing-house for information on hemp production, processing, trade, and markets.

INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Monitoring research and technology developments in the hemp industry.
Developing guidelines and standards including terminology, specifications, test methods, guides, and classifications for the hemp industry.
Ensuring alignment of accreditation processes where possible.
Sharing innovation and technology advances with other members to help advance hemp industries around the world.
