The global hemp fibre industry is poised for growth, but it urgently needs modern, efficient test methods and standards to become a major commodity in regional and international markets.
The ASTM D37.07 Hemp Fibre Working Group (ILS project #1862) is undertaking vital work to test, compare and prioritise methods for measuring fibre length and width, with the goal of integrating them into international standards.
To fund this important project, FIHO and ASTM are launching an online auction and fundraising campaign aimed at raising at least $20,000 to support the ILS #1862 feasibility study.
How You Can Contribute
You can support the project in two ways:
Donate products or services for the auction, such as hemp garments, books, unique hemp-related items, farm tours, hemp seed or oil, and more.
Make a cash donation, which will be acknowledged with a gift and a certificate of gratitude. Donors in the United States can also receive a tax deduction through our partner association, the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation.
Recognising Our Supporters
We are grateful for the generosity of individuals and businesses who contribute. Donor names and logos will be featured on this page in recognition of their support.
Why It Matters
Beyond fundraising, this initiative will help drive education and awareness about hemp raw materials and finished products already available in the market, while advancing the standards that will allow hemp fibre to thrive globally.
